When Black Friday comes, I’m gonna dig myself a hole. Gonna lay down in it ‘til I satisfy my soul.

Paint it Black
I don’t know about you guys, but this week left me cooked as a Thanksgiving turkey. While some may brave doorbusters at dawn or #optoutside, here’s a glimpse into my Black Friday wish list:

  1. SLEEP IN. 🙏🙏🙏
  2. Leftovers for breakfast, including Deb Perelman’s suggestion of waffle iron stuffing and eggs.
  3. Force my children outdoors. (Whether I join them to be determined equally by fair weather and attitude.)
  4. Enjoy this thematic (and hilariously random) playlist.
  5. Leftovers for lunch.
  6. Shop Black Friday sales from the comfort of my couch, and possibly still in my pajamas. #nojudgementzone
  7. NAP.
  8. Happy hour. 🍸
  9. Leftovers for dinner.
  10. Family movie night, followed by Top of the Lake - Season Two (now streaming on Hulu!)
  11. Running in the rain. 😆
  12. 😴😴😴😴😴
Whether you have big plans or no plans at all, may all our Black Friday wishes come true.

Media Diet
I was so disappointed to see Charlie Rose added to the list of men accused of sexual harassment this week. Be sure to watch this raw and heartbreaking reaction by his CBS This Morning co-anchors, Norah O’Donnell and Gayle King. I’m sure many of us will be asking this question as more stories unfold: “What do you say when someone that you deeply care about has done something that’s so horrible?”
Parents: Be sure to read this alarming piece on the deterioration of teen mental health. All signs point to the screen.
On a related topic, teens aren’t the only ones struggling with screen time. I can already see a new set of rules forming in our household.
This story on the largest-ever, all-female expedition to Antarctica reminded me of a fantastic ESPN 30 for 30 podcast episode about an all-women trek to the North Pole 20 years ago. Definitely worth the listen.
Forgive me, but I cannot wait for this (even if it means enduring Dorit’s ridiculous accent for one more season).
Add this to my growing list of winter coping mechanisms. #gettinghyggewithit

Open Tabs - Holiday Gift Guide Edition
This week, I’m excited to share a few ideas to help with holiday shopping…
(family members: spoiler alert!)
Hogwarts Library for my Harry Potter obsessed 7-year-old. He’s also into origami, so this is right up his alley.
For my fashionable 5-year-old, new gear from all his favorite teams. He also loves these Crocodile Creek puzzles.
A personalized superhero costume for my daring 2-year-old.
More ideas for kids:
For my husband who hates to shop: the trendiest shoes in Silicon Valley, wireless earbuds, and this stunning book on his favorite president. I may also surprise him with a giant Serrano ham
For grandparents: custom photo albums, calendars, phone covers - basically anything plastered with their grandchildren’s faces.
For a dear friend or relative: a gorgeous print by this photographer
For my Real Housewives of New York loving boss: the perfect tote bag and coffee table book.
For all my female co-workers (naturally).
For the book club white elephant party
Stocking stuffers! I always head to the Land of Nod for things like this, this and this. I’ll also be giving plenty of Badger Balm after hearing about this incredible Babies at Work program.
And Santa, if you’re listening, all mommy wants is a loving family, a clean house, one of these (verdict: WORTH IT) and one of these (out of stock until Summer 2018?! 😭😭😭)
Someone is getting on Santa's good side.
Have a Wonderful Weekend!
